Civil and public law

There are five main categories of civil law: contracts, torts, trusts, probate and family law. Civil law governs relations between private individuals and the country. Main function of the civil law is to regulate civil law’s intercourse and to predict sanctions, which are used to re-establish situation before infringement.

Public law is the law governing the relationship between individuals and the state, or between one state and another. Crimes, constitutional law and international law are subdivisions of public law.

The main idea of civil law and public law is to find out who is guilty and who is not. There are different types of infringements therefore there are different ways to solve the problems. So different types of law are needed.
